  Fire Safety Plans

Canadian fire codes require that most buildings have a Fire Safety Plan. Fire Safety Plans must be reviewed in all Provinces and Territories, and in Ontario, approved by the local Authority Having Jurisdiction.

Each Fire Safety Plan is unique to the building for which it is written. Plans contain procedures for supervisory staff and occupants, a summary of the building's fire protection/life safety systems, and information about the required maintenance of said resources.

The goal of a Fire Safety Plan is to provide occupant safety in the event of a fire, to ensure effective use of the fire safety features of the building, and to minimize the possibility of fires. A Fire Safety Plan also serves as a useful tool for fire fighters responding to fire emergencies.

LRI will perform a comprehensive audit of each facility; create drawings showing the layout and locations of fire protection/life safety devices, and meet with building management to discuss the ongoing and emergency responsibilities to be assigned to supervisory staff. LRI will prepare the Fire Safety Plan for review by the Client and will then submit the document to the local Authority Having Jurisdiction, working with them as necessary in order to expedite their review of the Plan.
