  Fire Safety Plan Annual Review

On November 21, 2007, the Office of the Fire Marshal released the latest Ontario Fire Code (O.Reg 213/01). The 2007 Ontario Fire Code contains a new requirement for an annual review of the building's Fire Safety Plan. This means that now, virtually all Canadian fire codes call for building owners to revisit their Fire Safety Plans at intervals no greater than 12 months.

The purpose of this requirement is to ensure that your building's Fire Safety Plan continues to accurately reflect the current layout, fire protection and life safety systems, staffing levels and assignments, emergency contact information, and use of the building.

LRI will review your Fire Safety Plan, meet with a representative of the building owner to discuss the Plan and complete a review checklist. LRI will then provide a record of the review.
