Most buildings are required to hold fire drills at least once a year. High-rise buildings, institutional and care facilities, schools and daycares must do so at more frequent intervals.

Fire drills provide building occupants and supervisory staff with an opportunity to practice what they have learned in fire safety training.

LRI representatives will observe building evacuation drills, timing key events and noting building staff and occupant response to the alarm. A report of the drill will be provided to clients, complete with recommendations for improvement. Drill evaluation reports may be distributed to supervisory staff and occupants, and will serve as a building owner's record of the drill.
